Throwback Italy (Day 1) - Colleferro

Assalamuaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Tengah kemas kemas file in my lappy tetiba terjumpa my journal pasal Italy.
Lama sangat dah cerita ni, kalau boleh tiup memang nampak lah berdebunya (nampak sangat menipu). Haha!
I went to Italy for a homestay program few years ago when I was in form 4, comel lagi time tu muka bebudak. Ehhh lagi satu penipuan!
Time tu pergi as hicom of SSP UNESCO Club, acehh aktif jugak rupanya time sekolah dulu puih.
Balik-balik je cikgu terus suruh buat report in journal form.
Time tu rasa macam.. haih penatnya nak buat journal.
Setiap hari punya pulak tu.
But now baru rasa berguna journal tu, duduk duduk sambil terbaring atas katil boleh acah acah imbau kembali hehe.
Lets have a little throwback, shall we?
(Tipu je little, memang I huraikan semua 7-8 hari dari A sampai Z. Tungguuuu)

(11th & 12th June 2010, Friday & Saturday)

Awal bertolak bcs like ayah said, better be earlier than letting others to wait.
Lagipun nama pun perempuan kan, kalau lilit shawl tu berjam jam tak siap.
Wakil from SSP (Sekolah Seri Puteri); 4 teachers and 8 students (included me).
We already discussed about this program since early in 2010 with STAR (Sekolah Tun Abdul Razak) and SOKSEK (SMS Tun Syed Sheh Shahabudin) boys.
On the day itself, we took off to Italy at 8.00 pm by Qatar Airways.

"Sekarang saya tengah berada di airport, tengah makan roti dan blabla."

We arrived in Italy and for the first time Najja and I met our host (we were given a foster family to stay with).
Caterina Marcelli, who was our host had already waited for us at the airport.
At first of course lah it was quite awkward, dah lah selalu jumpa Italians dalam tv je kan hahaha

Me (muka innocent gitu), Caterina, Najja

We were very excited to meet Caterina and she was absolutely beyond excited too!
Together with other students, we took a bus to Colleferro.
Colleferro is actually a small town of the province of Rome, which is situated in the central of Italy.

As we arrived in front of the Italians’ school, we met our host’s father named Aldo, who welcomed us warmly with a big smile on his face (ahh I still can remember how excited he was to see us!)
At first tengok Aldo rasa macam eh eh sama muka dengan (arwah) datuk.
(Ye Dylla, even Ketua Menteri Melaka Datuk Ali dulu pun kau rasa cam muka datuk haha).
We waited for others to meet their foster families.

Zaman aktif cheerleading confirm lah gelap :p

After that, we went back to Caterina’s house in Aldo's car.
Soon as we arrived, we could see a woman on the third floor of the apartment waved at us.
Rupa-rupanya that woman was Caterina's mother!
Nampak tak betapa diorang alu-alukan kedatangan kitorang :')
And the surrounding looked really, really peaceful and harmonious.
We unpacked our things while Caterina and her mother prepared for our lunch.
Dah offer nak tolong tapi takkan nak masak nasi lauk ikan pari asam pedas pula kan hehe.

Caterina introduced her brother, Allesandro (a really cute boy!) and her beautiful cousin, Benedetta.
Benedetta could speak English very well, so she helped translate when they talked in Italian language.
Before eating, we washed plates and utensils with a special soap called taharah soap (boleh digunakan untuk tujuan 'samak' in case if diorang pernah guna pinggan tu untuk masak pork).
The Italians gave a strange look at first but after we explained, they understood.
Yelah cuba bayangkan tetiba tetamu datang basuh pinggan dulu, dah lah before makan hahaha

After we finished our lunch, Caterina took us for a walk to Rebecca’s house which was nearby Caterina’s house.
At Rebecca’s house, we met Caterina Maggi and four STAR boys.
We decided to take a walk around the residential area.
Penat pakai cam elok elok, those boys only wore their slipper jamban -.-
Hahaha macam kampung sendiri pula ye!

After about 10 minutes of walking, we arrived at an ice-cream shop.
Rebecca and Caterina bought ice-cream for each one of us.
I chose a yoghurt strawberry and chocolate flavoured ice-cream.
Alang-alang someone nak belanja, haaaa over pula.

We continued walking for another 20 minutes.
We felt very tired, so we went to a park and rest for awhile.
In the park, other Italians came and greeted us.
They were very friendly!
Merasa lah jadi retis beberapa minit, hai sana hai sini.

And then we headed back to Rebecca’s house and had a 'pizza party' with the other delegates.
The Italians taught us how to play a game.
We made a circle and the first person started by saying “Nippon Nippon Nippon” and the others would say “Wah wah wah”.
I couldn't really remember how the game was but as far as I know, we really enjoyed playing that game.
Cam monyet monyet sikit but that was how our friendship became closer!
