Eid Mubarak

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Eid ul-fitr should be a happy month for all of us.
But I guess not everyone celebrates with happiness.
People in Palestine are still being attacked and tortured by the cruel Zionist.
Death toll increases.

Whilst in Malaysia, some of us still suffer.
Some still can't get over of something.
Sadness instead of happiness overwhelms.
And this happened to us too.

Yes we woke up early so we could arrive at Nenek's house early.
It's only a 5-minute-journey from our houses, that was why we didn't sleep at Nenek's place with the other relatives.
As we arrived, the house was a bit quiet compared to years before.
Happy faces outside, but sadness inside.
I could really felt the sad aura as I stepped into the house.

This is the first year we celebrate Eid ul-fitr without my beloved Datuk.
Ya Allah, I miss him so much.
If he were still alive, he would be the one who were very busy that morning!
His loud voice ordering this and that.
His calm smile while looking at us.
His laughter when making jokes and saying funny things.
I really miss everything about him.
Especially on the first day of Eid ul-fitr.

Nenek looked very sad.
We took turns to salam Nenek.
She cried.
Ibu cried.
We cried.

We went to the mosque for solat raya.
We had takbir before solat and guess what, tears ran non-stop on our cheeks.
Sayu je rasa hati bila dengar takbir.
I bet my cousins and aunts cried because they miss Datuk too.

Like I'd told you before, Datuk is the one who I really really really love like how I love my parents.
Without him, I lost a large part of me.
Only his scent on his favourite shirt and a photo of him in my phone accompany my days.
I know I should neither be sad nor grief as he's in a better place now InshaaAllah.

But everything turned out to be much better.
This is one of the best Eid ul-fitr I ever had.
Few things changed, no more hatred.

I couldn't ask for more.
This is more than enough, Alhamdulillah.
MashaaAllah life is beautiful.
Sadness has been beautifully balanced by happiness.
That's how life rocks our world.

Nah satu gambar raya of myself.
More photos on my Instagram.
Take it or leave it hahaha.

Toodles and assalamualaikum!

Panduan Solat Hari Raya Aidilfitri / Aidiladha

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

To be honest, I rarely go to the mosque to perform solat raya.
But this year I managed to go! Weeeee *clap clap*
And we (big family of Ibu's side) went there on foot!

So before I start explaining and so on, do you really know how to perform Solat Raya?
This solat isn't that complicated as you guys may think at first.
I know I should write this post earlier but unfortunately I forgot hehe forgive me.
So lets begin.
Btw I got most of the infos by compiling from few websites.

Rakaat Pertama

1.  Niat dan Takbiratulihram

Niat solat Hari Raya Aidilfitri:

أُصَلِّي سُنَّةَ لِعِيْدِ الْفِطْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مَأْمُوْمًا لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى
Usalli sunnatan liAidil Fitri rak'ataini makmuman lillahi ta'ala.
Ertinya: Sahaja aku sembahyang sunat Hari Raya Aidilfitri dua rakaat makmum kerana Allah Ta'ala.

Niat solat Hari Raya Aidiladha:

اصَلِّي سُنَّة عيد الأضحي رَكعَتَينِ للهِ تَعَالَي
Usalli sunnatan Aidil Adha rak'ataini makmuman lillahi ta'ala.
Ertinya: Sahaja aku sembahyang sunat Hari Raya Aidiladha dua rakaat makmum kerana Allah Ta'ala.

2.  Doa iftitah

3.  Lafaz takbir 7 kali diselang-selikan dengan bacaan tasbih "Subhanallah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar" sebanyak 6 kali

6.  Rukuk

7.  Iktidal

8.  Sujud

Resipi Kuih Semperit

Assalamualaikum and good morning.
Haha sorry for the spam (if you notice).
Well I just transferred 26 posts from the new blog to this old blog.
Why? How?
Forget about it haha.
Bcs today I'm gonna tell you another recipe which is ...
Kuih semperit!
Some of you may call biskut semperit but they're the same.

300g butter
160g icing sugar / powdered sugar
100g corn starch (tepung jagung)
160g custard powder (tepung kastard)
240g wheat flour (tepung gandum)
2 egg yolks (kuning telur)

1.  Cream butter and icing sugar until it is light and fluffy.
2.  Insert the egg yolks.
3.  Then add all types of flour which have been sifted (diayak).
4.  Mix them well altogether until it becomes a dough.
5.  If the dough is still sticky, add a bit more corn starch.
6.  Roll out the dough to your favourable thickness.
7.  Cut out rectangle shapes with a biscuit cutter (I lost mine so I just cut by using a knife haha).
8.  You may decorate with cherries or chocolate rice.
9.  Bake for 20 minutes at 150C, until light golden. Leave to cool on a rack.

1 adunan = half of this bottle.
Kuih cair dalam mulut nyumnyum.
This is one of our fav cookies during raya.
So, as a penganggur I'm the one who have to make all these cookies urgh.
The one thing I really don't like about baking cookies is you have to wait for a loooooong time to finish it!
That's why I prefer making puddings and desserts hehe.

Okay gtg guys.
Assalamualaikum and have a nice day!

Malaysia Airlines MH17

Another heartbreaking news after the loss of MH370.
I was scrolling the twitter timeline when someone tweet-ed bout Malaysian Airlines Boeing-777 crashed in Ukraine, near to the Ukraine-Russia border.
The first thing came in my mind; "Eh is this about MH370?"

No it wasn't.
It was about MAS MH17 which was on its journey from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
It was really a heartbreaking moment.
Too sad to think, Ams to KL hm mesti ada yang balik sebab nak raya, Ya Allah sedihnya.

I know we still can't get over MH370 and here comes another sad news.
"Why us?" Some may ask.
But who are we to question?
Kun fayakun.

Quoted from Qoran, Ya-Sin 36:82;
"Verily, His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, "Be" - and it is!"

Twitter (idk what's going on in other social networks) is really a mess right now.
Well as usual, twitter is always a "hot" medium during time like this.
It's okay for me if you tweet something like "Hopefully they're safe." "PrayForMh17" and other useful informations but somehow, certain people have just gone too much, if you get what I mean.

Some people spread false news.
Some people make inappropriate jokes.
Some people try to be popular by speculating news that we still haven't known the truth yet.

Don't say/tweet/post/upload anything if you have nothing good to say, innit that easy?
If you were in their (family members and friends) positions right now, how do you feel?
Can't even imagine, right?

Respect the passengers' and crews' family members.
Consider their feelings.

To all family members and friends of the 295 passengers and crews, I know this is not enough.
Words can't really express how saddened we are to hear about your loss.
But please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your dear family members/friends.
Stay strong.

Book Review: She Wore Red Trainers

Book review for this week; She Wore Red Trainers by Na'ima B. Robert.

Maklang lent me this book few days ago.
It's a Muslim love story.
I was kinda curious before reading this novel.
Curious on how can they love and meet each other.
Curious on how can they make their relationship be a halal one.
I was excited to know the ending part of this novel and it didn't disappoint me at all.

Amirah meets Ali on a basketball court and love at first sight happens.
Ali who has lost his mother does everything he could to establish himself as a good muslim in the community.
He left his happy-but-full-of-sin old life, lowering gaze, avoiding fitnah, making himself busy with basketball and islamic activities etc.
Amirah, a gifted artist who has also left her old life is the eldest sister in the family.
She has to take care of her brothers and sister as her mother has problems.

They can't stop thinking about each other but Amirah has sworn never to get married, while Ali's father is never agreed with early marriage.
Falling in love isn't simple and easy but it is never that hard.
How can they be together and still maintain a higher relationship with Islam, without breaking the rules set by Islam and themselves?

I love the way Ali approached Amirah and how they really liked each other but never told anyone.
The story really gripped me in a way that made me kept turning to the next page.
This novel is really suitable for teen readers and especially those who love reading Islamic romantic novel.

Here is the link for the first chapter of the novel which you can access for FREE!
And below here is the book trailer.

So that's all for today.
Got lots of books to be read.
Have a nice day guys!

Assalamualaikum :)

What is happiness to you?
How do you define happiness?
How do I define happiness?

Happiness isn't only about having big houses,
buying expensive cars,
being a brand-conscious,
going overseas every month.

Happiness is more than that.

Happiness is seeing your parents' smiles.
Happiness is making your family proud of you.
Happiness is causing the happy tears to roll down on their cheeks.
Happiness is loving people who love you.

Happiness is organising a charity event.
Happiness is buying ice creams for the orphans.
Happiness is donating some money you have to the homeless.
Happiness is providing good food and clean clothes to beggars.
Happiness is giving fish to hungry cats.

Happiness is sharing food with your friends.
Happiness is being there for someone.
Happiness is realising there are people who always support you.
Happiness is rising back from a deep fall.

Happiness is smiling sincerely to someone who hates you.
Happiness is when someone asks "Dah makan?" "Sihat?"
Happiness is spreading good vibes.
Happiness is creating positive auras.

Happiness is getting something more than you expect.
Happiness is strolling along the beach
Happiness is looking at the sunset.
Happiness is having leisure time.

Happiness is making yourself closer to Allah.
Happiness is saying 'Alhamdulillah' for everything you have.
Happiness is knowing Allah is always there for you.
Happiness is following His guidances and the sunnah of the Prophet of Allah.

Happiness is a never-ending list.
Happiness is everything all around you.
Happiness is easy to find.
It is up to you on how and where to find it.

There's a quote that I remember;

"Happiness is not about having what you want, but wanting what you have.

So now, I wanna ask you again.
What is happiness to you?

Book Review: Kot Putih

Assalamualaikum and good evening.
A book review jeng jeng jeng!
Haha so today I would like to share my opinions on a book entitled "Kot Putih".
Ahh the title itself portrays people who wear white coats.

A friend of mine gave this book to me.
This book is actually written specially for Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) students.
It's written by some of the former students there.

It is a story about the journey of 5 medical students named Aki, Amran, Pit, Imah and Sofeya in JUST.
Different characters, different hardships, different struggles.
They changed to become better people.
From lazy to hardworking.
From hot-tempered to cool and calm, willing to say sorry.
From selfish to kind.

Being a medical student is not that easy.
But in this book, their passions and how they survived encourage readers to be tough and keep on moving although you feel like you wanna stop everything what you have already started in medical school.
It also tells us that as a medical student, you don't have to study 24/7.
You still can spend times with your friends, organise events etc.

Besides, there are few medical terms included in this book.
Idk why but this is the most interesting part for me.
I was fascinated with how they managed to answer the doctors questions.
How they easily knew what's the patient suffered from and what are the causes.
How they conducted surgery and so on.

Lastly, I also love how this novel made me touched.
Touched bcs of the power of love created among the people in this book.
The love between family because of Allah.
The love between friends because of Allah.
And the love as a servant to The Almighty, Allah swt.

That's all for today.
If you have this book, I suggest you to complete reading it.
Open your mind and reflect back yourself.

'Kek Batik' Recipe (English)

I had tried few recipes before but I think this one is the best.
I got this recipe from a friend of mine.
Paling senang, simple, jimat and the most important thing; sedappp!

Let's start with the ingredients first.
250g of butter (either buttercup or margarine)
1 tin of sweetened condensed milk (usually I use susu pekat manis F&N)
5 spoons of cocoa powder
1 packet of marie biscuits

What's the procedures?
Mix all of them and pour into a container.
Haha alright I'll explain in a proper way.

1.  Beat the 250g of butter in a bowl.

2.  Add the condensed milk. (In this step you may reduce it if you want to. I'd seen somebody only use half of the tin, but I never try.. well maybe because I likeeeee sweet hehe.

3.  Then add the cocoa powder and stir well until all the ingredients are completely mixed together. You can use Milo, but its appearance isn't really as good as if you use cocoa powder.

4.  Patahkan all marie biscuits into 4 before adding them into the bowl and make sure every single biscuit is covered with the cocoa mixture.

5.  Lastly, spread everything into a container and put it in the fridge.

Certain people use eggs as the cake will be much softer.
But a bit complicated as you have to heat them and make sure to insert the marie biscuits fast bcs the marie biscuits cepat jadi lembut in hot mixture.
Can you imagine what will happen if you're slow?
Lagipun as I stated above, this is the easiest way to make kek batik (at least for me lah haha).

Try this recipe by yourself!
I'm sure you will satisfy.
Here's a photo of my kek batik, nyummm!

That's all for today. Assalamualaikum :)
