Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. I've never known her in person, nor what she studied or where she lived. But one thing I know, she was a fighter. She passed away a few months ago due to SLE, but that doesn't indicate she lost to SLE. Let me tell you why.  Some of you might wonder, what is SLE?  SLE stands for systemic lupus erythematosus or in a simpler layman's term, it means body immune system attacks healthy tissue. And because it's a systemic disease (affects whole body, does not focus on any particular area), it might attack any parts of body including skin, muscles, blood, heart, lungs, stomach, kidney etc. All these manifestations attack at the same time in a serious condition. It seemed impossible for one to endure such pain, but that was what she did. This book is compiled by her friends from the experiences they had with her; the ups and downs, the happiness and sadness. The author name seemed familiar to me and after going through my mind, trying to remember back, I found out that David Levithan is the author that collaborate with John Green on a book entitled Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I really love that book because the story is about 2 different people with 2 different perspectives and views, but having the same name.  I found Every Day in Popular when I was hanging out with my housemates. I showed up for every classes, though I was thinking of not attending the last class (Medic lectures are not compulsory in IMU), because first, I hadn’t printed out the notes yet, and second, I could barely interpret and digest what the lecturer taught during the previous class in the morning. Thinking of having lunch with Tiara during the 2-hour-gap, but changed our intention last minute as I had a meeting with my MPU group mates for our video assignment and Tiara had some errands, so she had to leave the campus early. Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabakaratuh.  A little bit of synopsis here; An Irish woman (Louise) married to a Syrian guy (Mostafa) and had a child with him named May. Together they stayed in Cyprus. She was being abused by her ex husband, but despite everything that had happened, he kept returning back to him. One day the guy abducted his own daughter and brought May to Syria. Louise entered Syria in order to be with her child and tried to bring her out of that war-zone country and with the help of many people along the way, they managed to escape and back to Cyprus again.  I felt really sorry for her at the beginning of the story when her ex husband abducted May and she had to figure out ways to rescue her. I know I'd never understand what a mother would do for the sake of her child as I'm not yet married and my ibu always tells me, "Bila awak dah kahwin, dah ada anak, baru awak faham." 5 OUT OF 5 STARS Book review for this week; She Wore Red Trainers by Na'ima B. Robert. Maklang lent me this book few days ago. It's a Muslim love story. I was kinda curious before reading this novel. Curious on how can they love and meet each other. Curious on how can they make their relationship be a halal one. I was excited to know the ending part of this novel and it didn't disappoint me at all. Amirah meets Ali on a basketball court and love at first sight happens. Ali who has lost his mother does everything he could to establish himself as a good muslim in the community. Assalamualaikum and good evening. A book review jeng jeng jeng! Haha so today I would like to share my opinions on a book entitled "Kot Putih". Ahh the title itself portrays people who wear white coats. A friend of mine gave this book to me. This book is actually written specially for Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) students. It's written by some of the former students there. It is a story about the journey of 5 medical students named Aki, Amran, Pit, Imah and Sofeya in JUST. Different characters, different hardships, different struggles. They changed to become better people. From lazy to hardworking. From hot-tempered to cool and calm, willing to say sorry. From selfish to kind. Being a medical student is not that easy. But in this book, their passions and how they survived encourage readers to be tough and keep on moving although you feel like you wanna stop everything what you have already started in medical school. ...
