Book Review: She Wore Red Trainers

5 OUT OF 5 STARS

Book review for this week; She Wore Red Trainers by Na'ima B. Robert.

Maklang lent me this book few days ago.
It's a Muslim love story.
I was kinda curious before reading this novel.
Curious on how can they love and meet each other.
Curious on how can they make their relationship be a halal one.
I was excited to know the ending part of this novel and it didn't disappoint me at all.

Amirah meets Ali on a basketball court and love at first sight happens.
Ali who has lost his mother does everything he could to establish himself as a good muslim in the community.
He left his happy-but-full-of-sin old life, lowering gaze, avoiding fitnah, making himself busy with basketball and islamic activities etc.
Amirah, a gifted artist who has also left her old life is the eldest sister in the family.
She has to take care of her brothers and sister as her mother has problems.

They can't stop thinking about each other but Amirah has sworn never to get married, while Ali's father is never agreed with early marriage.
Falling in love isn't simple and easy but it is never that hard.
How can they be together and still maintain a higher relationship with Islam, without breaking the rules set by Islam and themselves?

I love the way Ali approached Amirah and how they really liked each other but never told anyone.
The story really gripped me in a way that made me kept turning to the next page.
This novel is really suitable for teen readers and especially those who love reading Islamic romantic novel.

Here is the link for the first chapter of the novel which you can access for FREE!
And below here is the book trailer.

So that's all for today.
Got lots of books to be read.
Have a nice day guys!

Assalamualaikum :)
