Relationship Goals
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Define goal.
goal
/ɡōl/
2. the object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.
A few photos of a guy bought a lot of pretty-and-expensive stuffs for his girlfriend become a viral and teenagers, especially girls start to consider meeting that kind of guy as a relationship goal. As in the definition above, yes a goal is an aim. But how can you make your desire to have a boyfriend like that as a 'relationship' goal, hm well it sounds more like an individual goal to me.
I'm not going to comment anything about the couple. I just wanna express my feelings and toss my opinions about those girls who seem to have a never-ending list of relationship goals. I don't really have the privilege to talk bout this as I'm still not married and usually people use this 'relationship goals' term for couples who have officially become husband and wife, but still, an opinion won't cause any harm, would it? It's okay to speak your mind, as long as you hurt no one.
This world is neither a dream, nor a fantasy, where a perfectly perfect prince is gonna come here someday and give whatever we want.
Girls, stop dreaming about a guy who will give every single thing your heart wishes for and listing nonsense relationship goals. No one is perfectly perfect and to put a certain standard on others is unfair. One person is not the same as another person.
Social media networks are a place where people tend to expose the good part of their lives, and hide the bad ones. Don't be easily fooled by the happiness we see outside and when we start to compare with our own lives.. that's how the negative thoughts start to conquer our minds.
As I already mentioned, relationship goals are agreed by two people, instead of only one who writes down every single thing that s/he wants to achieve in a relationship. If only one sided, then it's a demand. Let's cut this out and straight to the point.
Life goals before relationship goals.
Set your priorities. Instead of focusing to have a perfect guy with big biceps and prominent veins who can give whatever you want, focus on your life first. Do not ever think of having a rich husband so that you don't have to work blabla. No, that's not how life works. To all girls out there, stop dreaming 24/7, start studying/working hard and be independent. The future is unpredictable, so always prepare for the worst.
Again, priorities first.
